Doctor Helen Stoppard is an anthropologist specialising in Outside Zone cultures. She is a studious, academic and opinionated woman, but is fascinated by the cultures outside of the Governance.
Her visits to the Outside Zone is done through the use of an Approxima, as she herself can't visit these locations. At the end of each expedition, she undergoes a merge with her Approxima, to keep their memories synchronised.
